About

Anushka is a writer and practitioner-in-training working at the intersection of psychoanalysis and the expressive arts. She holds a BFA in Film Production from New York University, and an MFA in Creative Writing from the New Writers Project at the University of Texas at Austin. She was a regional winner of the Commonwealth Short Story Prize for Asia in both 2012 and 2017. She was a 2015-16 fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts, and was awarded the 2017 Stars at Night emerging writer award by American Short Fiction. Her work has appeared in Scroll.in, Internazionale, Adda Stories, and Granta. Principles of Prediction is her debut short story collection.

In 2026, Anushka will begin doctoral research in Psychoanalysis at the Global Center for Advanced Studies. She lives in Mumbai, with her dog, Kanamma.
